Join us at 18 Reasons on November 10th for a Friendsgiving of community, food, and giving back! Chef Nicolaus Balla of Duna and Smokebread will be preparing delicious seasonal dishes (all sides!) and sharing his best waste-free cooking tips. We’ll cheers with Omission beer and for dessert, we’ll have Three Babes Imperfect apple pie and ice cream from frankie & joes. All proceeds will support 18 Reasons and their Cooking Matters program, which offers free cooking and nutrition classes to low-income people and families. Tickets here!

IP: Tell us about 18 Reasons and Cooking Matters
SN: 18 Reasons is a nonprofit community cooking school focused on home cooking from around the world. We host classes that are open to the public every night in our 18th Street classroom, and teach free cooking and nutrition classes to thousands of low-income families every year through our Cooking Matters program. We believe that home cooking is a key ingredient in a healthy, happy life, and that by cooking and sharing food with the people we love, we strengthen our communities.
IP: How has Imperfect impacted your work?
SN: In every Cooking Matters class, families take home a bag of groceries they can use to recreate the recipes we made in class that day. Through our partnership with Imperfect, we have been able to double the amount of fresh produce we are able to offer to our families, helping them make delicious new recipes and stretch their food budgets.
IP: How can our SF community get involved/volunteer?
