For us, winter is all about warmth, togetherness, and sharing the joys of generosity and food. We hope to make this winter a little brighter and a lot less stressful by covering your bases when it comes to shopping for your winter groceries. Let’s see what this winter has in store for your Imperfect delivery!
Sweet citrus is coming
Torrential rains throughout California and Mexico are delaying the start of citrus season. But don’t worry, your favorite winter fruit is on the way shortly. Keep an eye out for tiny mandarins, cuter than baby Yoda, which are being packed specifically for us since large retail chains only want the medium size mandarins. We’ll also have specialty citruses like Meyer lemons, Cara Cara oranges, blood oranges, ruby red grapefruit, and more!
Oh hi, oat milk
Fans of alternative milks will be excited to hear that we’re offering delicious Sunrich Barista Oat Milk. We rescued this milk after a large chain of coffee shops that was supposed to buy it delayed the launch of their oat milk drinks. This left the producer with tens of thousands of containers without a home. At $2.99 each, it’s a great deal and a great way to prevent food waste.
Wasting chocolate is nuts
Chocolate-covered nuts are a delightful sweet snack. So we were in shock to learn that a certain percentage of these nuts aren’t the right shape for retail stores. We’re sourcing these oddly shaped chocolate treats since we know their amazing taste is what you care about most.
We’re rooting for veggies
Root vegetables, the literal underdogs of the vegetable kingdom, are delicious to cook with if you know what to do with them. As part of our winter groceries, we’ll have an astounding variety of tasty roots. You can expect parsnips, turnips, rutabaga, daikon radish, celery root, and watermelon radishes from farmers in Georgia, Michigan, California, and Oregon. Some have shapes and sizes that stores don’t prefer, but we think they’re one of the best gifts of the season.
Just in time for your wintry pastas and grilled cheeses, we’re unveiling our new Imperfect White Cheddar. While most cheddar in supermarkets is only aged for 6 months, this extra special white cheddar is 4 years old. This results in a richer, more savory flavor and a fun, crumbly texture.
This winter is going to be a truly bountiful time for your Imperfect delivery. We’re adding more grocery staples every week in addition to even more of the seasonal produce you know and love. In the months ahead we’ll also be offering our fan-favorite salmon, chocolate covered pretzels, coconut water, fruit jerky, and more!
