There’s no such thing as too much spice. Well, that’s not 100% true – don’t go dousing your breakfast cereal in cloves just yet. But for the most part, if you’re looking to liven up dinner or zhoosh up dessert, there’s a spice for that. And the odds are, Imperfect has it! Did your coffee cake come out bland? Does your stir fry need a zesty sparkle? Seriously, we have a seasoning for everything. Check out a few of our favorites and learn how cooking with spices can make your meals shine.
Seasoning for All of the Things
So it’s Tuesday night and you’re making pasta. You dip your finger in the sauce. It’s missing something, but what? Enter: Seasoning for All of the Things. It’s all of your favorite herbs and spices in one shake. Perfect for…well, all of the things.
Bring Cinnamon to the Party
Cinnamon is that friend you can always depend on. They’re never far away, and you have breakfast together almost every day. But it’s time the two of you get out of your comfort zone. Cinnamon isn’t only delicious in baked goods and oatmeal. A pinch of cinnamon adds complexity to fall soups and flavorful curries.
It Needs More Garlic
Trust us on this one. Garlic is great for you, and it breathes life into even the most mundane of recipes. However, it’s not always fun to chop, and there’s a distinct scent that some of us may hope to avoid. Skip the smelly fingers and add our ground garlic powder to warm up salads or yakisoba.
Don’t Forget about Cumin
Don’t let cumin be typecast as only fit for ground beef tacos. Curry isn’t the same without it, and roasted cauliflower cauls out its name when you leave the room. Add it to roasted nopales and mushroom breakfast tacos or try sprinkling some on sweet potatoes before roasting them to enhance their natural sweetness.
Pass the Sea Salt
Have you ever eaten an egg without salt? Neither have we. Salt makes bland food craveable, questionable food edible, and everything from apple pie to zucchini fritters more complex and delicious. Salt is the spice of life, and we think you should sprinkle some on yours.
