At last, the sun is sticking around a little longer, and tasty things like spring onions and asparagus are peeking their little heads out of the ground to say, “What’s up? It’s been a minute!” So hang in there while winter has its last hurrah. Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes seasonal surprises, tasty treats for furry friends, and new sustainable items for your home.
Coming soon, we’ll have Yogurt Covered Pretzels coated in Leftover Sprinkles, Wonky Chocolate Bars that went unwanted because they’re only somewhat rectangular, and Salty & Sweet Odds & Ends Bark. This bark is already a big hit with the Imperfect team – its milk chocolate meets leftover peanuts, cookies, potato chips, and pretzels for one delicious and indulgent mouthful. But if you’re in the mood for something lighter, we’ll also have Eggs for Easter from Tony’s Chocolonely. Or wait, those are chocolate too. We meant lighter on your conscience because all their chocolate is ethically sourced and crafted.
Vaguely. It’s something to do with kale, right? Lettuce jog your memory because soon we’ll have a variety of lunch-ready salad kits like Lemony Cashew Caesar, Toasty Sesame Ginger, and Nutty Pesto. Not only are these salads full of fresh veggies, lots of crunchy bits, and dressed to impress — they also take a bite out of food waste. That’s because they’re packed with offbeat veggies like golden beets and a nutritious base that incorporates leaves, stems, and roots.
Springing Up Out of the Ground
Contrary to what the grocery store may suggest, strawberry season is not year-round. But it is just around the corner, and soon our somewhat small but extra sweet strawberries will be popping up out of the ground quicker than we can pop them into our mouths. But until they arrive, we’ll have lots of goodies to distract you, like slightly discolored but very refreshing grapefruit, spicy Tokyo turnips, and domestically grown dragon fruit. We’ll also have buttery and inconsistently-sized artichokes straight out of a 90s dinner party and a flavorful selection of spring onions, spring garlic, and spring shallots just in time for… hmm can’t remember.
Ramp Season Ramps Up
Depending on what part of the country you’re from, you’ll either be very confused or very excited by the next sentence. We’ll have consciously harvested ramps arriving soon! East Coasters and Midwesterners might know this veg well, as ramps grow quite rampantly there in the spring. If you’re not familiar, ramps are a wild cousin of onions indigenous to North America that enthusiasts across the country forage for each spring. They resemble green onions, taste like a savory and sophisticated hybrid of leeks and garlic, and are prized by chefs and foodies for their deliciously unique flavor.
Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking
Get a whiff of Saved Stems, our new line of sustainable and one-of-a-kind floral arrangements! The floral industry has super strict regulations about things like “stem-length” and “thorniness.” And since nature has a mind of its own, a flower farmer might get an unexpected rain and suddenly be flushed with more flowers than they can sell. That’s where Saved Stems come in. It’s a safe space for surplus sprays and stems that didn’t quite make the cut.
Pawsitively Tasty Upcycled Treats
Has your cat been plotting its great escape ever since you lost the laser pointer? Soon you’ll be able to coax kitty back into your arms with Crunchy Cat Treats from Shameless Pets in flavors like “Catnip and Chill” and “More Lobster Cheese.” And we can’t have pup feeling jealous. We’ll have soft-baked biscuits, dental sticks, and jerky bites for your doggo to drool over. All treats are healthy, pet-approved, and incorporate upcycled ingredients like pumpkin and apple. A big round of a-paws for that.
Woof! There’s so much to look forward to this spring at Imperfect.
