How Adda Veggie Makes Cooking Easier

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

One of our newest offerings at Imperfect, Adda Veggie, comes to us from our friend Trishna at Down to Cook Foods. It’s a simple protein mix made from whole, ethically sourced ingredients. You can turn that random veggie rolling around your fridge into a delicious and filling meal or make your own meat alternatives that won’t leave you wondering, “just what else is in this thing?” Just mix, add veggies, shape, and cook! Here’s how it works:

Mix

Adda Veggie Process with protein crumbles and broccoli
  • Pour Protein Crumbles in a medium bowl and soak in ½ cup water for at least 2 minutes.
  • Now stir in the Adda Mix and mix well.
  • Fold in 2 cups of any finely chopped veggie of your choosing. Fresh or frozen, cauliflower or zucchini– just about anything in your crisper drawer will work. You can check out this veggie guide for recommended vegetables and prep instructions.

Shape

It’s time for your Michelangelo moment. Sculpt your Adda Veggie into any shape you like! You can make patties for a delicious veggie burger, roll it up for veggie meatballs or falafel, or crumble and layer into lasagna or get out your dino-shaped cookie cutters and make nuggets.

Cook

There are so many delicious recipes from Down to Cook for you to try, but our hands-down favorite is these Broccoli burgers with Secret Sauce.

A little feedback for your friend Trishna:
    1. You can get rid of one more allergen without compromising taste by replacing onion powder with shallot powder. (Look up “Migraine diet” for other ingredients to avoid).
    2. Sodium matters to some people. It’s very easy to add salt, impossible to remove it. Consider making your mixes with no salt added.
