Imperfect’s Summer Grocery Preview

We’ve got a big wave of new arrivals coming soon to shore at Imperfect this summer. So drop anchor, swim-up in your pool floaties, and join us as we open the treasure chest of items we’re stoked about. 

Totally tube-ular 

There’s no bigger summer bummer than a sunny day spent in the shadows because you forgot to pick up a tube of sunscreen. Safely catch some rays with our new SPF 30 Mineral Spray Sunscreen and SPF 15 Face Lotion. They’re great for your face and for the fishes, too, as they’re made without chemicals that can harm marine life. So hang ten, take a dip in the big blue, and go to snorkel city without harming any of our friends with fins. 

Have your cake and eat it outside, too

We’re totally blue-crushing on bakery treats for summer. Sure, sweater weather is over, but why should that mean we have to stop being cozy? Enjoy breakfast in the backyard with our warm and gooey Blueberry Muffins, have a posh party in the garden with our lemony drizzled Teatime Raspberry Scones, or enjoy a perfect picnic with our Classic Lemon Tart. 

But wait, there’s more! We’ve got a sweet summer mystery afoot going by the name of Daisy, Daisy Cupcakes. Our Noir Daisy Cupcakes are on their way and seem to go missing suspiciously fast. Dressed to the nines in a variety of chocolate and vanilla, you’ll have to taste a little of each to figure out just what makes these cupcakes so unexplainably good.

Bread-y for summer

Locals know that the best spot for a sandwich is at the rusty old cooler you dragged across the beach. But to help you get ahead of the summer crowds, we’re bringing in loaves of sandwich bread perfect for diagonally cut PB&Js or picnic-perfect veggie-packed sandwiches. We’ll have 7 Sprouted Whole Grain, Whole Wheat, and Multi-Grain loaves in somewhat unconventional shapes that grocery stores consider unsellable. But we were like, wait, is that not what “artisanal” means?

You dip, I dip, we dip

Even if you live nowhere near the ocean, a lake, a river, or even a really big puddle, you can still take a dip this summer. We’ll have flavors for little dippers and big dippers alike like creamy Tzatziki, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and the highly anticipated Chocolate Hazelnut Hummus. All dips are made by a family-owned and women-run business that started on Clement Street in San Francisco, not too far from the Imperfect HQ. 

Summer fruits to brighten your day

Riding in on the new arrivals wave are summer fruits like golden kiwis and cherries. Our golden kiwis are palm-sized balls of sunshine that are a little smaller than what grocery stores prefer. But we think that just makes them sweeter. And unlike regular kiwis, their skins aren’t fuzzy, making the whole fruit a delight to eat! 

And speaking of delight– cherry season is heating up and will be hot hot hot for the next few months. Our cherries come in all sorts of unique shapes and sizes. Some come in doubles, and others have nose-like “spurs,” which means grocery stores won’t buy them. But seeing as we’re always on the hunt for triple cherries, we’ll take them all!

After the longest year on record, summer is here at last, and we can’t wait to make it an epic one.
